Two new lands, lots of long-awaited attractions being uncovered and the launch of numerous family dining and lodging options – there are a lot of new happenings in Disney this year. Here are some of the most exciting new launches which make this year the perfect time for you to bring your little ones to the happiest place on Earth!
Additions to the Animal Kingdom Park
In light of its 20th anniversary celebration, quite a few additions have been to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, making 2018 the perfect time to visit it.
Earlier this year, in the spring, Pixar’s Russell from the movie ‘Up’ teamed up with his furry little friend Dug, to invite guests to join in on their latest journey to discover birds from all across the world.
Bringing your kids to Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also allow you to show them some beautiful new animals that have joined the Maharajah Jungle Trek this year. Born in August 2017, Indonesian tiger cubs, Anala and Jeda are the first Sumatran tiger cubs born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
This year, for the first time in thirteen years, Animal Kingdom celebrated the birth of the most adorable Nile hippopotamus calf that is all set to be presented on Kilimanjaro Safaris later this year.
Toy Story Land
One of the newest additions to Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land features two new attractions. A retro character themed rollercoaster where children and adults will enjoy twisting and turning on the Slinky Dog Dash, and another ride called Alien Swirling Saucers which puts riders through a chase into space. There has also been an addition of a third track to the already existing and very popular Toy Story Mania Ride.
Flurry of Fun Holiday Celebrations
Holiday season in 2018 will also be a newer experience as the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights was replaced by Flurry of Fun Holiday Celebrations which debuted in December 2018.
The all-new celebration includes the returning Jingle Bell, a firework, light and projection show called Jingle BAM and a new Sunset Seasons Greetings.
Re-Imagined Hall of Presidents
Back after a yearlong break for renovation, a brand-new Hall of Presidents was opened in December 2017. The remodeled set up was made to include the 45th presidential figure, along with incredibly upgraded projection, lighting and sound systems.
