When you’re waiting under the sun in lines for hours or running around the park trying to fit in all the attractions into one single day, you are going to end up hot and sweaty! Combine that with the hot and humid summer weathers of Florida, and a trip to Disney Land makes for the perfect recipe for dehydration and exhaustion.

So what are you to do to ensure you retain your energy levels and stay cool throughout the duration of your adventure?

Take it Easy

We get it; you’re excited about finally making it to Disney World and want to fit in as many rides as possible into the day! But overdoing it in the intense heat is a surefire way to drain your body of water and running the risk of sun stroke.

Take some time out to take a breather between rides and head on over to the air-conditioned shops during hours when the sun is right overhead. Avoid standing directly under the midday sun for too long!

Set out early

Rise with the sun and get ready to head out to your Disney World adventure as early as possible. This will not only help you beat the early birds and get front places in the long queues at the entrance, but will also give you a number of hours to enjoy before the sun gets too hot.

Wear sunscreen

Sunscreen is going to be your lifesaver on this trip! When you’re spending that much time under the sun, chances of sunburn are pretty high and can make you look like a rose by the end of the day—and we don’t mean that as a compliment!

Keep a bottle of your favorite sun screen in your backpack and reapply often; preferably every two to four hours.Disney World VIP Tours - Keeping Cool at Disney World

Bring your own water bottle

We can’t stress this point enough! Walking around under the hot sun in the summer will leave you parched, and buying a $3 bottle of water every time you’re thirsty will do a number on your wallet!

Instead, bring your own water bottle to the park and ask for free refills from any of the food kiosks scattered across the place. They’ll do it for free!

Take the Air-Conditioned Rides

At times when the sun is at its brightest and hottest usually between 3 to 5 pm, choose to either shop at some of the air-conditioned shops for souvenirs during this time to avoid the heat.

Reserve this time to take some of the indoor visual effects rides and take the outdoor rides early in the morning or later in the evening.
