What Is The Weather In A Helicopter?

Well, to be honest, the answer is not as easy as you might have thought, helicopters travel all around the world and many of them work in extreme conditions, so really there is no single answer to this question. But in general, the temperature inside a helicopter is somewhat similar to the one that is of that particular area. I say somewhat because once the helicopter gets high enough the air gets colder than it is on the surface, so if the temperature is 72 degrees or something at a lower altitude, the temperature is going to be quite similar, but at a higher altitude, the temperature is going to be a little lower than what it is on the surface.

But there is more than one type of helicopters, if the helicopter is of the open door type then you are going to feel the outside temperature with all its power. The closed helicopter doesn’t have that problem, and most touring companies use closed-door helicopters as they are safer and better for touring.

And most modern helicopters have the creature comforts such as climate control and such so that you can optimize the temperature of the cockpit as per your requirement.

 

What to Wear In a Helicopter?

Unlike most transport systems, helicopters do have a dress code you need to follow before getting onto the helicopter, and if you are going on a tour, the company will guide you through everything that meets their proper dress code, but let’s discuss it briefly anyway.

 

The first and the most important thing is that you don’t wear anything that is loose or can fly off, this means that no dresses or lose pieces of jewelry. A pair of jeans pants with a t-shirt will do the job just fine. Also, try to wear your clothing in layers so that you can put on or take off as per your needs to be the most comfortable. As a bonus try to wear dark clothes, they are better in pictures in a helicopter then lighter clothes.
