With the opening of Toy Story Land in June 2018, Andy’s backyard was brought to life. Based on the popular film franchise, Toy Story, the new Disney theme park is helping people finally experience what it feels like to be Buzz Lightyear heading off “To infinity and beyond!”
Faithfully recreating Pixar’s popular franchise, Toy Story Land gives visitors the illusion that they’ve been shrunk to the size of the toys. Guest can enjoy a fun time with favorite characters such as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and other beloved toys in Andy’s Backyard.
Seeing all those larger-than-life characters in person can put a smile on anyone’s face! Here’s all that you need to know about visiting Toy Story Land.
It’s an Immersive Experience
The whole idea behind the attraction is that the guests have been shrunk to the size of a toy as they go around exploring Andy’s Backyard. There are massive footprints left behind Andy on the ground, other toys come out to play, and a lot of other realistic details that make it seem like you’ve been transported inside your television set.
Fun Rides
Expanding on a total of 11 acres of land, there are a lot of fun rides to be experienced. New additions include the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster, inspired by the popular Hot Wheels car racing track, with Woody’s faithful partner Slinky Dog serving as the ride vehicle. The roller coaster is a complete thrill trip and is bound to elicit a few laughs and screams along the ride.
The second new ride is the Alien Swirling Saucers that put you in the scene where tiny green aliens are plotting their escape from the claw machine as seen in Toy Story.
Delicious Food
Having all that fun around the theme park can make you work up a solid appetite! If hunger bells start ringing, Toy Story Land has you covered. Woody’s Lunch Box is the main eatery in the area and it too sticks to the theme.
The restaurant looks like Andy’s lunchbox has tipped over and all the food has spilled out. From French toasts to grilled cheese sandwiches and s’mores, there are plenty of scrumptious snacks to satisfy your cravings.
Pixar’s Easter Egg Hunt
The land is based on a beloved Pixar franchise so of course, you can expect a bunch of Easter Eggs placed throughout the park. A lot of things are a nod to Disney references. Keep your eyes open to see if you can find all the hidden Easter Eggs!
