TRON: Lightcycle Power Run
A highly anticipated new coaster will be coming to Magic Kingdom! TRON: Lightcycle Power Run has been under construction for the past 5 years! Although there is no official opening date it is predicted this new ride will open in 2023.
Originally Tron: Lightcycle Power Run was due to open in 2021 – 2022 for the 50th anniversary of Disney World. Due to the parks being closed in 2020 the construction was delayed. The good news is we are now seeing the vehicles being tested on the track which is a lot of progress and shows the
the ride is getting closer to its completion!
This coaster based on the TRON franchise will be in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. The cars, known as Light Cycles, look like motorbikes and will have similar seats to the ones you find on Flight of Passage. You will reach forwards as if you were on a motorbike, to hold on to the handlebars and
the restraints will be against your back and the back of your legs.
This ride will have a car that is accessible for guests with mobility issues so everyone can ride!
TRON: Lightcycle Power Run will see your light cycle travel at almost 60 miles per hour through The Grid and is both indoors and outdoors. You will travel under the iconic canopy that changes color accompanied by a soundtrack by Daft Punk.
This is the same ride as the popular attraction in Shanghai Disneyland.
The futuristic look for this ride will fit perfectly in Tomorrowland and is right next door to another iconic building, Space Mountain.
The Disney World Railroad is currently closed due to the construction of TRON as the railroad will run through the ride area!
As this ride is part indoor and part outdoors the colorful canopy not only sets the scene for this futuristic ride but also enables it to run even if it is raining.
