Taking a Disney VIP Tour this summer at Disney World is top on lots of people’s lists! But this is also the hottest and most crowded time of year to visit.
Here are some tips to help you maximize the magic during your trip if you are visiting Disney World for your summer vacation!
Use Early Park Entry To Beat The Crowds!
If you are a guest at a Disney World Resort you can enter the park 30 minutes early every single day! This gives you a chance to get ahead of the day guests and get into the queues for the most popular rides first!
This is a great way to ride some of the most popular attractions at Disney World with a shorter wait time.
The mornings are also the quietest times in the parks and you can often get the more done in the first few hours than any other time of the day. If you can enter first thing in the morning you can maximize your time in the parks!
Beat the Heat!
The hottest part of the day is also one of the busiest times at the Disney Parks. After lunchtime, until around 5 pm the Florida sun is at its peak which leads to the temperature being super hot! This is also the most crowded part of the day in the Disney Parks.
Due to this after lunch is a perfect time to take a break! Head back to your resort to relax by the pool, take a nap or cool off in a water park!
If you don’t want to leave the parks it is a great idea to visit indoor attractions or have a delicious meal in one of the table service restaurants to escape the heat and take a break!
Get Free Iced Water!
Water can cost over $4 a bottle in the Disney World Parks! In the summer with the heat being so hot it is vital to stay hydrated. To save money on drinks be sure to take advantage of the free iced water you can get from the quick-service restaurant at Disney World!
Use Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lanes To Cut Down On Queues!
The summer is the peak season for Disney World and because of this, the queues can get long! One way to try to reduce the amount of time you spend in queues is to purchase Disney Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lanes passes.
Genie+ costs $15 a day, per person and is available to use on up to 40 attractions at Disney World to join the shorter Lightning Lane queue.
TOP TIP!
Be sure to order at 7 am, when reservations open, to get the best chance of getting a return time for the most popular attractions
Individual Lightning Lane Passes are offered for the 8 most popular rides at Disney World. These rides aren’t included with Genie+ but you can pay to skip the queue for these rides individually. If there are some ‘can’t miss attractions that you want to experience that offer Individual Lightning Lanes passes you can save hours by skipping the queue for these! This helps you get the most out of your day and avoid standing around in the heat whilst queuing!
Extended Park Hours For Deluxe Resort Guests
If you are staying in a Deluxe Resort at Disney World you get extended evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays! This is a great way to get an extra 2 hours in Magic Kingdom or EPCOT with far fewer people and much shorter wait times! You will also be visiting in the cooler evenings which is a lovely time of day to experience the parks without the heat and humidity!
Purchase A Refillable Mug For Cheap Drinks!
If you are staying at a Disney World Resort you can purchase a refillable mug which you can then use this as many times as you like during your stay! You can use your refillable mug at your resort or any other Disney Resort you visit. This can be a great way to save money and stay hydrated!
Come Prepared!
Be sure to bring water and sunscreen with you! A cooling towel is also a popular item to pack in your day bag for some relief from the heat! You can also come with a poncho for the possible thunderstorms you may encounter. Luckily they are short-lived and as many people leave the parks at the first sign of rain can benefit you are the parks are quieter! Buying ponchos ahead of your trip will ensure you’re never caught out and will cost you significantly less than buying one in the Disney Parks.
