There have been a lot of exciting updates and changes at Walt Disney World since the start of the year. Since the return of Bob Iger as leader of the company, we expect this is only going to continue month after month. Let’s take a look at some of the top news stories from Walt Disney World to help you plan your upcoming Disney vacation.
TRON: Lightcycle Run Opens This April in the Magic Kingdom
One of the resort’s most anticipated attractions for many years will open this April in the Magic Kingdom. If your Disney vacation falls over on April 4th, 2023, you could be there for the opening day. This ride is similar to the one at Disney park in Shanghai, and it’s a high-speed adventure that teens and adults will enjoy. We expect crowds to be high when it first opens, but it will be a great addition to the Magic Kingdom for thrill seekers.
Happily Ever After Returns to the Magic Kingdom
Happily Ever After was fan-favorite fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom. Our Disney vacation planners can’t wait for this show to return on April 3rd, 2023, lighting up the sky once again each evening. It features many classic Disney tunes and characters and is the perfect way to finish off your day in the park. The crowds will be high for its first few weeks over Easter, so make sure you arrive in plenty of time to secure a spot on Main Street, U.S.A. for the show.
Walt Disney World Housekeeping Update
The pandemic brought with it many changes to the service offerings at Walt Disney World. You may have noticed on your last Disney vacation that the Disney housekeeping service wasn’t the same as in past years. The great news is that the regular housekeeping service will return across the resort by the end of February. Depending on where you are staying, you’ll either receive service daily or every other day. Your beds will be made, bathrooms cleaned and restocked, and trash emptied, making your stay more enjoyable once again.
Splash Mountain Closing and Refurbishment
Splash Mountain recently closed to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This retheming of the classic attraction has caused a lot of excitement amongst our Disney vacation planners, who can’t wait to see this popular movie celebrated in the parks. The next time you are in the Magic Kingdom, expect to see work underway on the ride.
These are just a few of the biggest news stories to keep in mind for your next Disney vacation. April is going to be a very exciting month in the Magic Kingdom, and if you are planning a Disney vacation during this time, you’ll want to make sure you experience the new TRON: Lightcycle Run and Happily Ever After fireworks.
