Even though the actual California hotel this timeless classic refers to was a nightmare, The Eagles were definitely onto something when they paired ‘California’ with ‘lovely.’

The Golden State truly is just that. It’s an exciting and fun place, with plenty of history, culture, party and excitement just waiting to be explored. If you’ve never been there, or you’re a frequent visitor or local looking to see new things, or maybe looking at the familiar from a fresh perspective, we’d recommend taking one of our private V.I.P. city tours around L.A., or a private V.I.P. tour of Disneyland, A.K.A. the happiest place on earth.

There’s so much to do in Cali, so much to see; you need to pack and prepare well to make the most of your trip. If you’re planning to be in Cali for a few days or weeks, here’s a quick and handy list of essential items to pack and take along:

1) Clothes

This is not to be super obvious, but clothes are obviously the first thing that comes to mind. However, watch out for the weather and pack day-to-day outfits comprised of clothes you’d be able to enjoy wearing.

Think light, airy fabrics that won’t stain or wrinkle easily—you’ll be out and about in the heat a lot—and fun patterns, dark colors to make that easier. If you’re going in summer, pack shorts, skirts and dresses (but watch out for chafing), tank tops, T-shirts and some longer pants and tops that you can dress up in.

 

2) Shoes

Again, we’re not poking fun by listing these obvious items. Shoes can be the heart and soul—pun intended—of a good trip. Remember, if you’re on vacation, you’ll be walking a lot.

If you’re wearing tight, uncomfortable shoes that pinch and chafe your feet, cause sores and blisters, you’ll never ever have a good time. Pick comfortable and broken-in shoes that are closed and can be walked in, some sandals or flip-flops for more casual days and the beach and a pair of dressier shoes that won’t stick out like sore toes in restaurants and parties.

3) Toiletries  

Toiletries can be tricky because what do you take and what do you leave behind on a trip!? Don’t worry; we’re jotting down some essentials you can’t go wrong with:

• Travel sized shampoo and conditioner
• Tampons/pads/menstrual cup
• First-aid items like band-aids and disinfectant
• Sunscreen! Can’t stress on this enough!
• Makeup essentials like mascara, eyeliner, blush, two lipsticks for daytime and nighttime wear

4) Additional items

This includes hats, sunglasses, cameras, accessories, journals and whatever else you can fit.

You’ll have the time of your life no matter what you do in California. There’s so much to do no, whether you take a Disney tour with the fam, or hit the town with your girls. It’s perfect!
